About Us and Our Story

Furniture art at by Laden was founded in November 2024 – created out of a love for craftsmanship, color, and stories that endure. We work with furniture art made from fully restored reclaimed furniture and believe that good design makes a difference when combined with care and intention.

Every day, we give existing furniture new life – and people new reasons to smile.

At by Laden, high-quality cabinetmaker furniture is carefully restored with respect for form, function, and history. We sand, paint, and refine until each piece once again stands strong, predominantly high-gloss, and alive. The fresh colors catch the eye, but above all they bring joy – because a piece from by Laden is not just meant to be seen, it is meant to be felt.

We are a family-run business where everyone contributes to the final expression. Proud of our craftsmanship and true to our values, we never compromise on quality. When you receive a piece of furniture from us, you can be confident that it stands in the same – or often better – condition than when it first left the hands of the original cabinetmaker.

Every piece carries its own story. Perhaps it once stood in a bourgeois home, was given as a wedding gift, or survived the years of war. Occasionally, voices from the past resurface – as when we once discovered illegal resistance newsletters hidden inside a cabinet. We preserve these small traces of life, so the furniture already has a story before you continue it.

A special joy for us is working with customers’ own heirlooms – pieces with sentimental value and soul. Here, furniture art is not just about restoration, but about preserving a family’s history and giving memories new life in the home.

Our background is built on more than 25 years of experience in craftsmanship, design, and art. We know the constructions, the materials, and the pitfalls – and we have learned from them. That is why you can safely entrust your furniture to us.

We are based in a former building joinery workshop in Ormstoft near Sønderborg, where the workshop and showroom sit side by side. A place where craftsmanship meets color, and the past meets the present.
