Each piece is chosen for its original qualities and carefully reworked with a focus on craftsmanship, materials and colour. Together they form a living collection of unique furniture and furniture art – including the more expressive and artistic Masterpieces.
The collection presents furniture art created with respect for what already exists. Each piece carries traces of its history, not hidden but integrated as an active part of its new expression. Through colour, surface and craftsmanship, the furniture is developed for contemporary use – where function and art merge naturally.
Part of the collection can also be experienced physically through our collaboration with Design Retro in Sønderborg. Big Sister Ida’s Nesting Tables
These nesting tables were generally in good condition when they arrived at the workshop. However, the veneer on one of the tabletops was damaged, opening the door to a deliberate and sensitive reinterpretation. The tabletop has therefore been clad in gold leaf, adding a new layer of depth and character while maintaining respect for the original piece.
The tables date from the 1920s–30s and are characterized by their elegant proportions and beautifully curved legs. The warm colors emphasize the lightness of the design and give the pieces a calm, timeless expression, where history meets contemporary furniture art.

The Exclusive
This mahogany shelving unit from the 1940s represents the transition between Art Deco and Danish modernism, where lightness, clean lines, and functionality merge into a unified expression. The finely curved drawers and slender legs give the piece an elegant, refined presence, while the material itself adds weight and quality.
The shelving unit has been renewed in a high-gloss cherry red finish, allowing the color to interact with the light and accentuate the proportions and details of the form. The surface brings a contemporary expression to the piece without compromising its original character.

Commodore 7
This original Art Deco chest of drawers from the 1930s is crafted in solid cabinetmaker quality, featuring fine inlays and a clear, architectural structure. The distinctive top and strict vertical lines reflect a period when proportion, function, and elegance were inseparably linked.
The piece has been carefully renewed in fresh yellow and nuanced green high-gloss finishes. The colors introduce a contemporary counterpoint without overpowering the original character. The surface enhances the strength of the form and adds new energy—clearly rooted in by Laden’s color universe.

Aunt Klara’s Dining Room Cabinet
This three-door buffet and sideboard dates back to around 1890 and is crafted in the Jugend / Art Nouveau style. The cabinet carries a clear sense of craftsmanship and is defined by its soft lines, balanced proportions, and ornamentation, reflecting a period marked by the transition between tradition and modernity.
The piece has been renewed in a folk-inspired color palette with clear blue and soft pink tones. At the center, a painting by artist Thomas Hansen-Brunde has been integrated, serving as both the visual focal point and the chromatic point of departure. The cabinet’s colors are drawn directly from the artwork, creating a cohesive whole where art and furniture merge seamlessly.
The cabinet can be separated into sections, making it easy to move and transport without compromising construction or stability.

Out of the Blue
These nesting tables are crafted in solid cabinetmaker quality and are characterized by their curved Baroque legs and elegant proportions. The tables date from the mid-20th century and are designed in the Neo-Rococo style, where decorative detail and lightness go hand in hand.
The tables have been renewed in shifting sky-blue tones, giving the set a calm yet vibrant expression. The tabletop of the middle table is finished in chrome silver, adding a subtle reflective counterpoint and bringing the composition together with a contemporary edge.

Grandmother Edith’s Bedside Table
This small bedside cabinet is crafted from solid oak and bears the traces of a life well lived. The surface showed marks and discoloration, which became the starting point for a gentle renewal and a warmer, more tactile interpretation.
The cabinet has been refreshed in several warm red tones, combined with copper leaf details on the drawers, adding depth and a subtle play across the surface. The colors are carefully balanced so the piece feels light and inviting, with an expression that moves between the poetic and the crafted.

Unique Trays
These trays are created from old paintings and function as everyday functional art. Each piece is one of a kind, where existing materials are given new life through a careful and deliberate process.
The original frames are cut into thin strips and mounted onto backing panels from older cabinets. The tray is then painted, and a painting is integrated as an active part of the surface. The final finish consists of clear lacquer and a thick layer of artist-grade epoxy, sealing the work and creating a deep, glossy surface with high durability.
The unique trays work both as independent art objects and as practical trays for the kitchen counter or serving. A meeting of function and art, where each motif and each frame carries its own story.

Aunt Klara’s Coffee Table
This table has been completely disassembled and fully restored with a focus on construction, stability, and detail. Damage to the otherwise solid tabletop has been carefully repaired, and all joints have been cleaned and re-glued, ensuring the piece once again stands solid and fully functional.
The colors are inspired by autumn leaves in the Austrian Alps, giving the table a warm, tactile expression where the tones interact with light and the depth of the surface. The finish consists of multiple layers of two-component clear lacquer, providing high durability and a long lifespan without compromising the natural character of the wood.
The table bears traces of a life well lived and carries a story shaped by joy, gravity, and reflection. In its present form, it stands as a piece where experience and renewal meet in a cohesive and complete expression.

Colorful Karen
The Colorful Karen sideboard originates from 1920s Neo-Rococo and is part of a larger dining room furniture set from Copenhagen. The piece is defined by its curved legs, profiled edges, and gilded ornaments—details that reflect a time when elegance and craftsmanship went hand in hand.
The sideboard has been renewed in a playful palette of high-gloss red, yellow, and lavender, where historic forms meet contemporary boldness in color. The colors are carefully balanced to highlight the character of the piece and give it a clear, confident expression. Inside, soft pink tones create a warm and calm counterpoint to the more striking exterior.

The Green “Pander”
This original table from the Dutch furniture house H. Pander & Zonen, dated around 1930–40, has been given new life through a contemporary and playful reinterpretation. The distinctive Art Deco base with fluted legs and cross-shaped foot forms a strong, graphic foundation, now set in bold contrasts of violet, yellow, and lime green.
The tabletop is finished in high gloss, bringing the composition together with both calm and attitude. The colors are carefully balanced to highlight the form and give the piece a clear, confident expression—respectful of its history, yet infused with unmistakable by Laden energy.
The result is a piece that functions as an independent work of art. A fragment of Dutch design history, refined and reinterpreted with humor, bold color, and personality.

Console Mirror?
This console mirror was found at a Kirkens Korshær thrift store in Sønderborg. As the mirror glass had already been replaced, new opportunities emerged to work freely with the frame and allow the expression to evolve in a new direction.
In collaboration with a young artist, the mirror has been elevated from a functional object to an independent work of furniture art. The piece carries the title “Don’t Pee on My Cotton Candy” by EKL, adding a clear artistic narrative to the frame—where humor, edge, and reflection meet.
The result is a work in which reuse, craftsmanship, and art merge into a cohesive whole. A mirror that not only reflects the room, but also stands as a strong and personal statement within the interior.

“LOOK AT ME!” – The Attention-Seeking Display Cabinet
“Look at Me” is a one-of-a-kind display cabinet where classic craftsmanship meets a playful artistic expression. The glass-covered top originates from a mid-20th-century display case and is here elevated on a striking base with a heavily turned column and gilded lion feet. The references point to both Empire and Art Deco, giving the piece a clear historical anchoring.
The cabinet has been renewed in glossy shades of lime green, orange, and deep red, bringing life and movement to the surfaces. The golden details add a refined contrast and emphasize the sculptural character of the piece, where function and form go hand in hand.

Turquoise Delight
Turquoise Delight is a 1950s chest of drawers, reinterpreted in a bold and vibrant expression.
The clear turquoise body frames a deliberate play of contrasts: golden leaf metal, intense pink, warm orange, and a cool violet base. The colors are carefully balanced, creating an expression that is striking – yet harmonious.
The second drawer from the top, finished in leaf metal, adds depth and a lively texture where light moves across the surface. The remaining drawers are finished in high gloss, giving the colors clarity and a calm, reflective quality.
The construction has been reviewed and reinforced, and the entire piece is finished with a durable two-component clear lacquer, ensuring depth, shine, and long-lasting durability.
