Aunt Klara’s Coffee Table is a classic table transformed through extensive restoration, colour and modern furniture art. The piece has been restored with respect for its original craftsmanship and with a focus on function, durability and aesthetics.
The table was completely dismantled and thoroughly renovated. Damage to the solid tabletop was carefully repaired, and all joints were cleaned and re-glued. The result is a solid and fully functional piece of furniture ready for many more years of use.
The colours are inspired by the autumn leaves of the Austrian Alps and give the table a warm and vibrant expression. The different shades interact with the light and emphasise the depth of the surface, while several layers of durable two-component clear lacquer provide gloss, durability and protection.
Aunt Klara’s Coffee Table still carries traces of a life well lived and holds a story shaped by experience and renewal. In its present form, the table appears as a functional art object where traditional craftsmanship and modern furniture art come together in a harmonious whole.
