Unique nesting tables as modern furniture art
Big Sister Ida’s Nesting Tables are a unique set of nesting tables from the 1920s–30s, created with respect for their history and a desire to give them new life through contemporary furniture art.
When the tables arrived at the workshop, they were generally in good condition. However, damaged veneer on one of the table tops became the starting point for a creative interpretation. The table top was therefore finished with gold leaf, adding depth, warmth and character while preserving the original expression of the furniture.
The elegant proportions and beautifully curved legs are characteristic of the period, while the warm red, orange and golden tones give the tables a contemporary and personal expression. The result is a set of colourful nesting tables where history, craftsmanship and artistic transformation come together in a harmonious whole.
The tables can be used together or individually as side tables, lamp tables or decorative elements throughout the home. They work both as functional furniture and as artistic focal points that bring life and personality to an interior.
